Return to Remote Learning during COVID related Lockdown

Thursday 15th July, 2021

Dear Footscray West Primary School Community,

The Premier has just announced a five-day lockdown due to the most recent outbreak of COVID19 in the community.

The lockdown will commence from 11.59 pm tonight and is proposed to end at 11.59 pm Tuesday 20th July.  We will have an immediate return to Stage 4 restrictions.

Tomorrow, Friday, 16th July, school will be closed for onsite learning.

Tomorrow at 10am your child’s class teacher will post some learning activities within the grade’s Google Classroom.  From Monday 19th July the daily learning program will be posted in each grades Google Classroom. This process will continue for the period of remote learning.

Only children whose parents or carers meet the recognised essential workers’ criteria and vulnerable students, will be eligible to attend and only during times they cannot be supervised for learning at home.

Their Care before and after school program will only operate for families who meet the above criteria from Monday, 19th July.

Parents and carers are required to make supervision arrangements for their children.  If you are a recognised essential worker, you will need to make contact, with me via the following link prior to 1.00 pm tomorrow (Friday, 16th July), so that your child’s attendance can be considered and the school can arrange appropriate supervision.

Please keep an eye out for further notifications via our app - ‘Updat-ed’ over the next few days.

Your sincerely

Brendan Millar
